Which Course Should I Take?

Scouts Canada Bylaws Policies and Procedures regarding First Aid requirements for Scouting Adventures can be found here.

At it’s most basic, the policy states:

At least one adult has first aid training and first aid equipment appropriate for the activity and is designated as the “First Aider”. If an adult is not present for any reason, a youth member must have first aid training and first aid equipment appropriate to the activity and be designated as the “First Aider”.

Keep in mind “appropriate to the activity” as you are choosing your training. Having Standard First Aid might be great for your urban meetings, but will not help you prepare for the challenges of an emergency on a canoe trip!
